The Invaders

Postby Omniscient Frog » Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:31 am

From the furthest edge of the galaxy, an ancient power awakens from its slumber.

Piloting strange, bio-mechanical Mobile Frames, the force has quickly encroached upon Solar Union territories.

Their intents obscure and alien, all attempts at communication have yet been unsuccessful.

I have made way too many of these.

Still working out systems for this one, but figured I'd show it here anyway.

Anyone want to play another round of "guess my inspiration?"

This is a pure guess, but Premonition has an Angel feel to it from Neon Genesis Evangelion. (I can just picture the one too but I can't remember it's designation or which episode. God it's been too long since I've seen NGE)

Matarael, the 9th Angel? That's my guess too.
If playing Dungeons & Dragons has taught me one thing, it's that you should probably not trust someone who introduces themselves with the phrase "GREETINGS FELLOW MORTALS IT IS I."

Wow, you guys are on top of it. Not sure if that means I'm less clever than I thought I was, or just better at translating inspirations into lego :?

First contact has been made, and worlds wait with bated breath.
What are their intentions? Are they willing to negotiate peace? Where have they come from, and what are they seeking? The people of the Solar Union demand answers to these questions.
What they do not expect is a message from one of their own:
"This planet is now under the protection of the !̵̨̧̨̧̭̥̻̲̹̟͇̻̖̬̤̝̙̝̳̣̞̫̥̳̫̝̪̤̣̱̮͖͙͖͈͕̓̑̃͌͗͂!̶̢̢͙̥̹͔͙̩̦͔̭͈͇̼̄͆̃̈́́̈́̐̉̐̋@̶̙̲̮̯̩̖̲̼̗̈̏̕͜͜ͅ#̴̟͔̗͓͎͕̩̆͊͌̅̅́̓̑̀͛͒͐̉͂̾̒͆͑̊ͅ$̸̠̱̑̑̌̔̄̾̈̑̏%̸̢̧̥̺̝̝͕̭͇̠͈͎̹͈͓͕͈̥́̑̏̒̿̀͛̾̎̽͑̈́͜͝&̸̡̡̩̞̗̻̰͍̱̦͔̲̭̼̽̏̂̈́̾͐̏̓̓̅͛͆̓̔̒͝ͅͅ. Do not attempt to reclaim it."

First contact has been made.
The first converts have declared their allegiances.

This one's less so based on and more so inspired by the concept of Bardiel, the 13th Angel from Evangelion. Plus I wanted to see what a Chub would look like in Invader colors. :D

I seem to have a thing for Watchtowers...

Amazing! This threat has some of your greatest works in it. That Prostelite Chub is gorgeous. The Invader variations are sublime in vitutally every combination. This is fantastic work! One that certainly defines yourself as an artist and leaves a remarkable impression on the MFZ universe.
