Zoghbi

Postby VitorFaria » Mon Jan 14, 2019 2:20 pm

Trying to honor the old-school zeonic amphibious mobile suits from Gundam, I started playing with those old lego claws again!

Started with my Misty Kitties as a base, with some good and old Chub legs, and this is the result!

That is a wicked looking frame VitorFaria. The light blue color with black really makes a statement. Those claw parts work exceptionally well for a frame this size.

Nicely done! Keeps the inhumanly intimidating factor of those amphibious Zeon MS while losing some of the goofier visual aspects. This one most closely makes me think of the MSM-08 Zogok, which judging by the name I assume is what you intended? Although with that overall structure and some flag pieces for fins it could make an Agguguy. And of course it distinctly resembles the classic Z'gok.

Thanks a lot, folks!

You got most of the inspirations right, Voldeblade. As you noticed, it blends characteristics from many different suits instead of trying to homage just one.

I love this design. Clearly a frame, yet wildly unique. Obviously the sources helped, but I really enjoyed your take on the Zeonic style, especially the colors. You inspired me to try my own hand at some a bit closer to the Z'gok. Zoghbi Reddi, launching.

Thanks, Ryan!

You inspired me to keep trying new claw alternatives, and this is the result:

Oh, these are neat. Great use of uncommon parts.

Made me think of some Gundam designs, animalistic and threatening. :)

Thanks again!

I miss the times those articulated tubes were common. I completely understand why TLG retired them, thou. They break very easily, even if handled with care.

These both look fun. Maybe I should revisit my Hygogg inspired design.

Thanks, Mantisking!

Could you refresh my memory about your version of a Hygogg, if possible?

I feel like with the release of mixel joints, you could really pull off something special with Hygogg arms.
