A Monument Thing!

Postby MusicalMethuselah » Sat Sep 08, 2018 11:47 pm

I grabbed some Pick-a-Brick at a Lego store a little while ago, and I made a little memorial/monument out of the parts!

It has heavy inspiration from some of the classic American memorials, like Lincoln and Jefferson.

Partially damaged by the fierce fighting in Virginia Landing, the memorial still stands, albeit with a bit of damage to its roof. Some have argued that the extra light makes it easier to see the names carved on the walls.

It's probably better-sized to something like 2p scale so that it can be a large, cavernous hall like the buildings that inspired it, but I still think it works in 5-7p scale, it's just a small memorial made by fledgling colonists.

And yes, the ground has suffered a bit of damage as well. I don't know whether or not to tamp it down flat.

Gorgeous!

I wish I had access to Pick-a-Brick so I could get all that green!

Thanks! Yeah, when they had a whole bunch of Statue-of-Liberty green, I knew what I had to do, haha.
