Been meaning to finish revamping the rest of the Gundam OO inspired Chubdams once i finished Braver, but I began running low on crucial parts again. While waiting for the next Bricklinks order I decided to play around with some unusual stuff I had lying around, and stumbled on these dragon cloth wings. I had always intended to use them as GN Wings for a Gundam O build, but decided the color might compliment the Duelist better.

In addition to the wings, the Duelist got the updated GN Drive from the Braver, rear skirt thrusters, modern Chubdam shoulder armor, improved shoulder mounts on arms for the dual shields/sniper rifle, head mounted sniping sensor, new frontal skirt armor, and a new flying leg pose.

Sadly I had to steal the stand from another frame; need more of those polybags!

Xercule Chubdam 2.0, a revamp much needed.

Added all the modern Chubdam bits, fixed the horrible original solar panel array, added the solar powered Wave Motion Cannon, and added some fun new shoulder thrusters. I really like the way the shoulders came out, so I'll probably play with them more in future builds. As much as the old build was a rough design, I think the original rifle and harmonica beam shield held up really well.

Thanks, I was hoping the rounded end would let the stud tilt further for a more varied look, but it gets loose very quickly the further you push it. I have a few more on hand (on foot?) so I'll definitely continue to play with the design.

Oh, I love this so so much!! The rifle and harmonica cannon are spot on, and the satellite cannon is AMAZING!

It's hard to pick a favorite, because all Chubdams are so lovable, but this one just might be number one for me.

Much appreciated! I usually find that the latest build is always my favorite, but I see this guy being a strong contender for a while yet.

--

Decided to end the year on a high note; Stark Jegan style. I rarely break down my Chubdams for new builds, but my Chubdam Sniper never quite felt right. As my obsession with the Stark Jegan grows, it was inevitable I'd give it the Chubdam treatment, and the older Sniper base was a perfect start. Custom Mass Produced suits will always have a special place in my heart, and the Stark Jegan is perfect example.

Its at this point I'm really starting to regret that I can't fit as much detail to really distinguish between different styles of Gundam heads without resorting to painting. Thinking of experimenting with tiny bits of colored electrical tape for the GM and Jegan inspired builds, but that's a task for another time.

Simple clip and tap as antenna, nice!

I have tried it before but for some odd reason it didn't feel this right, might give it another shot!

Forgot to post this revamp a while ago, but decided to update my GM Custom inspired Chubdam Monsha into a Jegan inspired Chubdam Monsha MKII after the fun of building the Chubdam Stark.

-------------------

One of my favorite custom GMs was the Guard Custom. The whole design screamed Elite Mook. Tower shield with multiple layers of anti-beam coating and cannons (brilliant!), upper chest cannons, customized GM sniper style head sensors, and that sweet forearm mounted beam saber that always made so much sense to me. I even liked the blue/while color scheme (classic Elite Mook palette swap). The Guard Custom looked and felt like a precursor to Heavyarms, another of my favorites. So obviously, I had to 'Chubdamfy' it!

I really REALLY like the Monsha MKII. It just looks so ... Complete. It come together really nicely and the colors are just the cherry on top. Really great job with this one :). Oh and the warrior reflects pose is awesome.

The ST-07C has its charm but LOVE that cannon shield :D

Thanks for the kind words! Honestly I just wish the tooth plates would come in the same color of light blue; then it would really be complete.

Finally got around to bricking the Noblesse, with some updates. Not quite where I want it just yet, need to get my hands on some white padlocks to make some adjusts.

FINALLY updated the second Chubdam I ever bricked (I believe), the Fenix. This poor fella was one of the few frames I broke down for parts over the years, and has spent most of its life in a disgraceful heap. Once I started modernizing it though, I thought it would be fun to try something different with it, and despite the frame being based on the Wing Gundam Fenice, attempted to craft Wing Zero EW Custom wings. The ST-07C Chubdam: Fenix 2.0 is the result. I'm pretty happy with how the wings came out. As anyone who has attempted to shoot and post pics of their frames can appreciate, the camera never does them justice.

First up first, some minor revisions to the original Chubdam along with an improved weapons inventory. Note the rifle, bazooka, chain hammer, and javelin are all now closer to the source material.

ImageChubdam Master Grade by The Hydromancer, on Flickr

I posted this earlier in Trick that Chub, but I guess I really should have just dropped it here. I was planning on adding the Zed and Double Zed to the master database once they were bricked, but I'm waiting on my bricklink order from Belgium which is gonna be a while.

Finally for today's image dump, an idea stolen from Skrob's Stein, the Chubdam Sineater, also based on the Sinanju from Gundam Unicorn. The Chubdam Sineater builds upon lessons learned from previous Chubdams while exploring new territory. This is the first Chubdam to use the rounded 1x2 plate and the bar w/ stud pieces. I also explored using hinges to lay SNOTs against each other for a smooth look, in the shoulders and chest.

The latest in Chubdam technology, the Hub Fighter is a drone designed to breakdown and provide field technicians with vital resupply equipment in the field to enable maintenance of Chubdams outside of normal supply chains. The Hub Fighter consists of several important subsystems such as the power supply, thruster pack, chest armor, and sensor suite; all cleverly designed to function with limited flight capability when combined with each other and a pair of reusable drone wings.

Bricked up the Hub Fighter. Note I cheated a bit for this pics, the chest vents don't hold the armor to the rest of the build (an oversight while building it in Stud.io). I've since replaced the vent with a yellow stud jumper tile. Let's just say the vents close while in flight?

Revamped the Rheinhorn in Stud.io as well since I was in the Gundam Unicorn mood after designing the Sineater. Had fun working on the Destroy, Awakened, and Banshee versions. One day brick, one day....

I've played around with GM inspired Chubdams before, but I think this is probably the most solid. Strikes a nice balance between the full Chubdam design and a mass produced version. I've started playing with more dynamic posing as well. Now if only I could fix my lightning.

So I gotta say, I have not seen anyone who pulls off the "Gundam" look like you do. If you love Gundam this recent post will not disappoint at all. The hub fighter support unit is really cool. Absolutely loving the Rheinhorn, especially the front, left, white one, such a cool look. And the Chubdam MP, awesome! Great post :D

Thanks! Glad you like the hub fighter in particular, I was worried might come off as too silly, but I love the idea of using it as a support unit in a game. And I will definitely get around to revamping the brick version of the Rheinhorn as well in the nearish future.

---

Continuing the dynamic posing entries, the Zed Chubdam is making its debut in brick! With the exception of the rifle, I believe its the same as the Stud.io render. No waverider form sadly, because I watched the Zeta Gundam's transform once and began sobbing. Not too much special going on here compared to previous Chubdams, although I'm quite happy with how the boomerang chest piece came out.

That rifle is absolutely fantastic!

Not sure how I fell about the trans blue rods, thou, omitting those wouldn't detract much from the build.
