Photo Backgrounds

Postby Trokodile » Sun Oct 13, 2019 1:30 pm

I've seen various backgrounds for photos, including many lightboxes, a few with a sizing box, a few people who limit themselves to renders, some that add a digital background, and then there are those that take pictures wherever possible. One thing I haven't noticed is a lightbox with details in it. If anyone's seen one of these in MF0, please point it out. Anyways, I'm turning this image into a lightbox for MF0 builds!

UPDATE: Although I didn't post this yet, it's been a few days since I typed up the above and have already finished the box. It looks pretty cool, I think. I have two WIP pics and a finished one.

The strangest thing about the Gunstar is that I remember seeing it back when it was first posted. I guess the detailed background wasn't significant enough for me to remember!

This is actually pretty novel in a very good way, would be cool to see more stuff like this around!

Thanks! The idea came from me sitting around not knowing what to draw, and then looking up sci-fi settings, then getting the idea to make it 3-D, and it just turned into this. The main reason I chose this setting was because I wanted to have either a red or orange lightbox, but they have previously shown up pretty poorly in photos, so I tried a lighter shade. As for more like this, expect to see a lot more of both this and another, as it'll be my main lightbox until I get a chance to make a jungle-themed one! And who knows, maybe this'll inspire some others to try the same thing!

You can even just use a heap of other LEGO.

First off, I love that farming frame. Second, thanks for pointing out some more examples.
And for future reference, when I said "a lightbox with details in it" I meant moreso as one used regularly, rather than a one-time use.

For future reference, there is literally no reason why a brickbuilt box background wouldn't be infinitely reusable. They're nice because the elements can be rearranged as needed and the same-medium construction gives a very immersive quality. There's a few people here who have little hangar set-ups for this very purpose.
