Can a system have both defensive and offensive die?

For example, a sharpened shield used specifically for close range engagements or blocking direct fire...
Could it add d6Rh d6Rh and d6B ?

Yes, but you would count it as 2 systems, and you would remove them for damage separately.

Simple answer is no, those are separate systems period. Now if you are clever in your building you can make them separate pieces that are removed so it be clear which one is which after one is removed from damage.

This is correct.
Just remember that you can represent them any way you want, as long as there's something you can remove to show each system is lost/unusable.
