Lets Draw: Mobile Frame Zero!

Postby Atavism » Fri Dec 08, 2017 12:05 am

So, there's been a few pieces of really fun art made recently by people depicting their own frames. I thought it would be enjoyable to have a dedicated thread to people drawing their own (or other's) frames.

I'll start with the estimable MK. 3 and it's crew unwinding after a long day in the field.

Everybody please feel free to post whatever you want draw, whatever you can draw, so long as it is Rapid Attack/Intercept Orbit related!
(Remember what Mr. Rogers said on the subject, always!)

Crosstalk is encouraged, but please don't gum the place up with requests for someone else to draw something for you (unless someone offers).

This is still about MFZ, moved.

Is this an Ijad riding a turtle meeting a frog?

Hey, this thread is relevant to my interests!

I've never done a mechanical design exercise in this way- taking an existing lego model and converting it into an illustration, while trying to remain faithful to the limits of lego-based geometry. I guess this is an insight to what my mind's-eye is trying to approximate while I'm building in the brick!

Not only is that an excellent frame, it's an amazing drawing!
This really shows off your skills as an illustrator, it looks crisp and professional.
I can't wait to see what other awesome things this thread will yield.

This'll be finished at some point, but for now here's the progress on it!

Yeah, it's definitely an interesting exercise - and one you've pulled off spectacularly!

You did a really great job preserving identifiable LEGO parts without it seeming like you were just drawing a LEGO build, particularly in the right arm.

No pressure, but I'm waiting.

These guys look super good! I can really see the elements that they would be made of.

I can not begin to say just how Beautiful these drawings are to go along with already beautiful builds. Amazing, just amazing! All of these are works of art, hands down.

I must confess I am a little jealous because I can not draw for the life of me. I am not requesting for any frames to be drawn, but I do give full permission to use any of my frames to draw with.

Either way please keep these amazing works of art coming! :)

This particular revision of my Orichalcum frame is actually quite old; I've just never gotten around to photographing it.

But we're not here for photos, we're here for drawings!

As always, my mind's eye-vision of my own frame is very very detail-maximal.

I ended up running away with my own design and turning it into something of an experiment in ambient environments. I've honestly never done environments much, mostly out of trepidation, but this experiment was more successful than I imagined it would be. Maybe I should try more whole-environment illustrations in the future!
