I've been dabbling with different head designs, but I often find myself struggling to decide what would work best, if not how to go about building many of these heads in the first place. Any pointers/examples for how to make a variety of heads?

These are turret designs but, more than a few of them could serve as mecha heads.

That's a really good reference Mantis :) . I've come to find that on a 7p scale the simpler can be sometimes be the better. A single wedge, clear plate, etc. Check out other heads and builds that you really like and start by trying to pattern your head with. Keep messing around with different configurations, and most likely you will stumble across something you like. Just keep it up, and most of all have fun and be creative :D

Not having a head at all is a perfectly valid design choice, too.

This old thread has some options. Or a place to start...
