Arms on a Hi-Leg??

Postby attackowl » Fri Feb 02, 2018 3:28 pm

In the Hi-Leg's bio, they mentioned that most mechanics "left the flawed arms off". What if I did put arms on a Hi-Leg? (I'm thinking long, skinny arms that make it look like a Ronin Titan from Titanfall)

Blorf made something similar

There are several other instances where players have given arms to Hi-legs, but each one has their own personality and style, we are interested to see your take on the concept.

That was an entry to a contest, (the winner for which was never selected). That's why the colors are so haphazard; I just threw it together. I believe spacemonkey entered as well so he should have one to look at somewhere.

Definitely give it a try if you want to! We'll all enjoy seeing what you come up with.

Sure did, though I only posted a link at the time.

As you can see, I had a more comical T-rexish mental image of the arms. :P

Digging through Soren's Flickr account, you can find this:

WT-04F Hi-Leg and ST-02D Commissar by [Soren], on Flickr

Those just appear to be Commissar arms attached to a modified Hi-Leg core.

And this robot version:

As I understand it, this was actually created before the core of that build got converted/co-opted for the Hi-Leg frame.

Anyways, as Astrid, said, we'd love to see your or anyone else's take on those fabled arms.

It has occurred to me that for all the frames I have made over the years, I have not yet done a Hi-Leg with arms! I may have done some Hi-Leg inspired frames with arms, but they were not true Hi-Legs. I've decided to correct this oversight

Armed Hi-Leg: d6Rd d6Rd Combat Pistol, d6B Arm Shield, d6Y Antenna

I tried to build the arms to mimic the legs to give the frame a coherent complete look.
I hope you enjoy.

Those look arms look really nice, Artasid! The proportions work so well the legs don't even look gangly anymore.

I really like your take on the armed Hi-Leg, Artasid, nice work!

It looks super cohesive, as the arms are built in a similar fashion to the legs.

I agree. Artasid's armed version is really sharp. Nice job.

Totally on board, the arms look great! :)

On a side note I also like the T-rex arms of the Loper :D
