====ORIGINAL POST BELOW====

A work-in-progress mock-up of a Mobile Frame Zero unit card.

Once the design is settled I plan on creating a template using the .

Still working on data that will appear in the bottom section below the unit name and model number. The dead space on the lower left will likely have a place for the manufacturer's logo and the company (squad) logo.

The back will likely have a place for details (fluff) about the various systems (make, model, caliber, etc...)

C&C about layout and content are welcome.

Sweet. Some days I feel like the only person using MSE for things that aren't CCG related. I've made cards for ICONS, Slasher Flick, and D&D 4E (back before all the C&D letters started flying)

I like the mockup. Will the central image will be an image tag so that users can select their own frame image to place in the card? The fonts you've chosen are very good. What are you going to do with the "flavor text" box? Will it be used for flavor text info like the pilot's name, etc?

I'm glad you're doing this. I had been thinking about doing it myself, but your mockup is much cooler than what I would likely have settled on. I'll be keeping track of this.

I, too, have used MSE for various projects, including D&D 4e. If that 4e-leadup enworld thread is still around, my template is linked in there.

What's the white box on top for?

I like the aesthetic a lot.

I would add d6W d6W so that all damage is tracked rather then just the systems we choose.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Changes:
* I've updated the layout to fit within playing card dimensions.
* Added spots for: d6W d8Rr d8G
* Added an area for the manufacturer's logo to the right of the model name/number. Ares-Kuan Technologies' logo is pictured on this card.

I'm still working out how to best use the bottom section. I've stuck some placeholder text there for now.
Ignore the faint traces of the white Xs behind the d6Rd and d8Rd . Those will actually be images you can choose if you don't put a system in one of those slots.

I think I'm close enough to finalizing the layout to begin making the MSE template.

Thoughts?

Nice. I'm looking forward to it. I love MSE for things like this.

I've completed the first version of the MFZ Unit MSE Template. It includes two styles: full and minimalist. This gives you two views of the same card data without having to create two versions.

The template can be found .

Requires:

font.
font.

UPDATE: Seems I forgot the instructions in the ZIP. Once you install MSE and the required fonts, just unzip the contents of the archive to the "data" folder where you installed MSE.

Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the template.

Enjoy!

I got to say I'm more a fan of the "blueprint"-like shot in the first card rather than the CGI'd look of the latter iterations.

The only problem I ran into is that the CIA Code 39 font just won't work no matter what I tried. So I downloaded a different bar-code font from DaFont and fixed the style file for that font on my computer. The only other problem I noticed is that there isn't support for split-weapons in your icons, like a pistol that's d6Rd / d6Rh .

Tweaks I've made for $#@!$ and giggles:
I played with your accent images and added red, yellow, orange, green, and purple accents. Because of that I had to tweak some of the z layering. I was thinking of using the accent colors to help differentiate companies with a quick glance.

I also slaved the barcode to the model number field so that I only have to enter that data once.

I'm experimenting with other fonts for the flavor text field and seeing if I can't set up a filter for certain words.

I noticed that you have a word-list, but didn't do anything with it in the game- or stylesheet.

Thanks for the feedback.
I planned to offer other "accents" but hadn't yet tackled the z-order issue it would create.

I'll get the split weapon icons done tonight. I honestly forgot about them.

I'll check on the font issue. It's possible I lost track of which Code39 font I was using.

I'd also be interested to see how you slaved the barcode to the model# field.
