Good current sets for parts?

Postby eggplantman » Tue Jan 24, 2017 9:52 pm

So I've got a gift card burning a hole in my wallet, so in a couple days I'll be driving about two hours to the nearest Lego store. I intend to pick up the Beatles' Yellow Submarine set, but it won't take up the whole gift card. Any recommendations for some good sets for spare parts? Or would the pick-a-brick wall be the better option?

Edit: This maybe should have gone in general discussion instead...

Pick a brick is always the best option IF it has relevant parts. (It should right now). Depends too on how much you have left over. Some of those comic book battle car sets have neat parts too.

Looks like I'm checking out the wall then. Never actually been to a Lego store. It should be an interesting experience.

I'd seen that, but it was slightly out of date. Though now I see you've continued the thread. Thanks!
