Very sad at his passing. When I saw on Twitter that he'd been admitted to hospital for chest pains, I had the dreaded feeling we'd be hearing of his departure soon after.

He lived a long and distinguished life and seemed like such a kind hearted good natured fellow.

Bones can stop saving that chair now.

We still have Uhura, Chekov, Sulu, and Kirk himself. Keep in mind Star Trek is 49 years old. That is a long damned time.
