Twisted Metal

Postby eggplantman » Fri Feb 10, 2017 4:51 am

Man do I miss the Twisted Metal games. There just aren't enough vehicular combat games these days, but we can always bring it into the MFZ world, right?

First up is the tried-and-true workhorse of the US Military, the Humvee, Warthog.

Next comes the Mad Max style rust bucket muscle car, Roadkill.

And finally, everybody's favorite proprietor of fine desserts and psychotic slaughter, the clown, Needles Kane, and his ice cream truck, Sweet Tooth.

I have a couple more I want do as well, but it's almost 4:00am and I've spent enough time on it for tonight.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks! And yeah, that's definitely the most creative bit. It's loosely based on Roadkill's special attack from TM3, though I've added the chain tether... I imagine the hooks latching on to an enemy and and then dragging them around the battlefield.

Boy, those chains are hard to work with in LDD.

Adding the man in the machine, Axel, to the list.

Friction pins should keep him from falling backwards. I wish I could have gotten his arms lined up better with the center of the wheels, but after several iterations, this was the best I could get while maintaining a normal 7p "figure," which I feel is important for scale.

Twisted Metal is a vehicular combat video game from the 1990's and early 2000's (and one less than stellar entry in 2012). It is among my favorite series, and in this thread I build and adapt its characters and their vehicles to MFZ.

Alternately, if you're specifically perplexed by Axel, check out his entry on the Twisted Metal wiki.

You did a nice job on these. The last one reminds me of some work by Paradox Boy.

Thanks, I'm not familiar with Paradox Boy, but that's all the more reason for me to check him out.
