Beta Skull

Postby Trokodile174 » Tue Jul 23, 2019 8:41 am

This frame's design was more conceptual. Its actual build was created with mismatched colors and substituted parts. It still turned out well, though, and is quite the direct-fire-range powerhouse. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the !
Image
I designed it in LDD, so when I built it, I was low on parts such as headlight bricks, a piece I'm still short of.
I'm planning on deconstructing a few Frames that don't get much use, and once I do this, I'm planning to try and fix up the Skull a bit, but I still won't get it perfect.
Loadout:
d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd Left Shotgun Cannons
d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd Right Shotgun Cannons
d6B d6B Armor Pods

The "head" of the frame is for looks, and the cockpit is actually in the main body. The two sticks in front of it are actually two cameras, one for day and one with night vision.

EDIT:
Original Beta Skull style now uses the Artasid-style legs. Here are the ! If you build something, please share it as I'd love to see it!

This design is a small litte gem. I hope you don't mind, but I constructed one of my own with a few changes, particularly in the legs.

Beta Skull: d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd Laser Cannons, d6B Armor Plates, d6G Jump Jets

This was such a fun little build that I'm tempted to make a full company, once I restock on my parts.

Nice take on the Skull, Artasid! I made my own variant in your style. At the moment I don't have the means to upload a picture, but I'm grateful for the leg design. I couldn't find a good one myself. I also realized I forgot the loadout and abit of description in the original post.

Looking nice, both variations. I love the simplicity and smooth look to it.

Now designed with Artasid-style legs (a much-needed improvement!) and updated coloring! I still have the slight green, but now I've given it more to balance it out.

Loadout reminder:
d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd d8Rd Quad Shotguns
d6B d6B Armor Pods
To delve even further into Artasid's take, I made a second Skull!

Image
Loadout:
d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd Laser Cannons
d6Rh Thorny Plants (head details)
d6B Thick Foliage (arm details)
I also discovered that they're quite stackable!

The black frame was just a little experiment that I've named the Kerby, for some unplaceable resemblance to the HAWKEN mech counterpart.

The current version of the frame is actually quite cheap, using common pieces as well as minimal amounts of rarer ones. I'm working on a full company of them, or at least a company that uses the two I've made.

Beta Skull Adrenaline

Postby Trokodile174 » Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:23 pm

After my recent exploits with the Anti-twank Beta Skull, I decided to return to the design. I also took apart my FN-X3 Falcon because I was kinda sick of it, so I had an abundance of orange triangle plates. So, I tried to build a Beta Skull around the FN-X3 core. Thus presenting, the Beta Skull Adrenaline!
Image
I attempted a smooth, streamlined shape, avoiding sharp angles wherever possible. Another goal of mine was to create a ridged top with an elliptical shaping. I did this not once but three times in one build.
Image

Loadout:
d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd Machine Guns
d6G/ d6B Aerodynamic Plating
d6Y Multi-Lens HUD
d6W d6W

Post-final Modifications: (WHAT? HOW COULD I IMPROVE UPON SUCH PERFECTION? )

Personally, I prefer the original Beta Skull Adrenaline design over the winged one, but I just hope you enjoyed.

Thanks! If I can manage to make one more Beta Skull, I'll have a full, coherent company ready for use! I actually have never taken apart a Beta Skull design, which is a first for any design I've made multiple of. But bricking the sixth will have to wait until my next order... I'm low on padlocks, arch bricks, travises, headlights, and those 1x2 vertical clip plates. (Basically, the core parts.)
Honestly though, I'd love to see your take on it at some point. I'm sure it'd be interesting to see.

This build would be exactly where I'd start of I were trying to brick up a Prometheus from Metal Warriors. It's got all the right elements and attitude, and certainly reads as a formidable weapons platform.

As previously mentioned, I'm working on ideas for a sixth Beta Skull design.
Here's my first idea: the Beta Skull Scout variant!

Expect two more designs soon!
Upcoming:
Beta Skull Humanoid
Beta Skull Quad

Beta Skull Humanoid

Postby Trokodile174 » Tue Nov 05, 2019 5:39 pm

Here's idea number two!
Image
The suggested price is below $7 for this, so if you buy it, go by that price. As always, all parts are available in shown colors.

Now that's a good-lookin' humanoid right there. That head is so simple and works so well. Nice beefy shoulders too. It just looks strong.

I really like the simple, concise head design. It really works to make that space-mariney helmet and visor with so few parts.

Here's the third concept design!
Image
Of the three, this is probably the tallest. I'd say it's comparable to the ES-58.

Vote here:

Now if I only had a purple one, I'd have a complete rainbow of Skulls.

On a side note, I'm also working on an archer-themed one. It's weapon? Bow and marrow.

As a quad lover myself I must say Trokodile, that your Quad Beta Skull has to be your best work to date.
I would love to play around with the design once I refill my parts supply.
