Welp
This build has been sitting around for ages (Basically came right after the White Dragon/Snowflake Knight) so it's about time I posted it.
That said, I never really found a good name for it. But anyway, presenting a scrapyard Lockon wielding an epic flamethrower! (Maybe some kind of resistance fighter?)
Image
I really like the shoulders on this one, those black clip things look like exhaust tubes and the armor on both sides is built differently while emulating the same shape, making it look like both sides have some different battle damage.

Image
Flamepack powered by some canisters of pyrogel.
(I also built a little pyrogel spring if anyone wants to see it)

And as always, if it's a rebel it uses spray paint! :D

Thanks a bunch to VitorFaria, whose Lockons got me into MFZ, as they were some of the first frames I built!

Thanks, Artasid! I hope you're right!

That's a beauty Aardvark17, despite all the "stuff" going on the build still manages to look cohesive and faithful to its theme.

That head did really catch my attention, maybe I'll try something similar in the near future.

Thank you!
Maybe it stays cohesive because having a lot of stuff going on is the theme :D

A member of the Facebook group commented that the Lockon Edge somewhat reminded him of the Panther from Battletech, which inspired me to build this new version.

The Panther is a very regular humanoid shaped mech, so I just took it as an excuse to build another bare-bones Lockon, which I actually really enjoy. Fancy systems are cool and all but having a frame standing out by itself can feel very refreshing and it's fun to build.

Also, I'm using MKIII style knees again, wish I had more than a couple of those parts.

Decided to mush some of my latest Lockons together and this is the result!

Loosely samurai based, it carries a bunch of reactive armor so it can survive prolonged encounters.

You know I think a lot of us put some much emphasis on SNOT that we forget how good studs can look sometimes. Especially like them as reactive armor, makes you look at them in a different way.

I agree, I'm hardly the first one to do it, but I'm glad I'm giving them a greater shot.

Felt like doing something Gundam Unicorn inspired out of the MKIII base, so I made the F2 version.

While it borrows aesthetics from many mechs from that era, it isn't based on any particular unit. It carries some zaku-ish weapons ver a mostly EFSF-style looking body.

I'm having each rocket launcher count as an SSR to make it less game ilegal than it looks.

Nice job on this one! That lightsaber hilt shoulder greeble is really clever, and I really like the look of the missile pods. Simple, yet extremely effective. The shield placement and back mortar-cannon looking think are sweet too.
Really great!

I agree with Aardvark17. The color combination is really well chosen. And that lightsabre shoulders give it a unique appearance that I particularly find appealing.

Thanks guys!

That is supposed to be the rifle stored on his back, thou a mortar cannon is a nice interpretation and not a bad idea at all!

I figured I never took an inner frame shot of the MkIII frame, so here it is:

Also, I recently managed to get some really cheap yet high quality clone sets full of tan so...

d6Ra d6Ra Long Range Sniper Rifle
d6Y V-shaped Antenna
d6B d6B Reinforced Shoulder Shields
d6W d6W

I tweaked the MkIII rifle so it can be attached laterally on one of the shields.

Everything else is what my current interpretation of a what a "standard" Lockon is.

Those giant shoulders and that central core light go together so well. Also, very nice slick white color scheme. Interesting what you did with that tooth piece to emulate the look you've achieved with the other bracket-style tooth plate.

I like the use of colors, especially how you tied in the look of the chest piece. I'm also really liking how you used that energy blade. I've got to definitely give that try ;)
