Trick that Chub! Thread go!

Postby NimbusAConflict » Fri Jun 28, 2013 2:35 pm

So, LFoW's latest work has inspired me to Trick dat Chub!

So, let's see what all people have done to an ST-07 Chub! The only rule is it has to be a basic chub under all the bling!

To start us off, here's my Golden Chub "Sandrock"

Using a shoulder mounting and folding cannon for long range, and a Twin Bladed Shield which is heavily inspired by the frames namesake.

He should be able to fit them all in one post like you mate. As long as there are no joints in the leg or arms, fair game

What about joints stop them being a Chub? To me the core of a Chub is the torso, pelvis and hip setup, and the way the head attaches.

I'm going to refrain from posting any Superchub photos. If only because I was excited to see a return to the more 'basic' of Chub mods.

A basic Chub in black (I was attempting to evoke a Star Wars feel with this. I've since disassembled all my frames and haven't built anything new in awhile, so this render is all I have, sadly).

My very first Chub, but the shoulder connection is different because I didn't have enough taps or robot claws.

I'll keep to "basic" Chubs, as I'm already going invade this thread pretty hard. Okay, here goes:

I included my first versions of the UMD frames because I don't think I've put them side by side the finals before. The first versions still have Dark Bley in them, or have slightly different connections, whereas the final versions have full old Dark Gray. I also don't believe I ever put up a picture of the first version Acheron shown here; you can see the bad hack job eyes versus my shift to the antennae tips later.

There's a lot of other frames I've done that could be called "Chubs", but they're closer to the Super Chub or use completely different limbs/joints/etc. Frames including the Paladin, Seraph, Pulsar, Peregrine, M9E Gernsback, XM9 Gernsback, Helios, Charon, etc.

Yep. Purse with a brick inside it, for making sure you're the first one to get to the sale.

The Acheron? There's not a whole lot to "break down" but this is the instructional picture I sent to the buyer of the Seneschal, if it helps:
